Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, made its highly-anticipated return to New England on Saturday for the first time since 1990, and it was RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John's/Suzuki Factory Racing rider Ken Roczen taking victory. Needing a win to keep his title hopes alive, Roczen did just that, dominating on his RCH Suzuki RM-Z450 en route to his fourth win of the season.

Roczen and Suzuki RM-Z450 On Top

RCH Suzuki’s Ken Roczen had an outstanding race in Gillette Stadium. He took over the lead on the first lap and never looked back, using the power and handling of his RCH Suzuki RM-Z450 to lead all 20 laps on his way to a commanding 9.022-second margin of victory.

"This race was awesome,” said a jubilant Roczen after the win. “I loved this place [Gillette Stadium] from my first step on the property. The track was really tricky and tough in some spots. We put our head down and got the victory. The team has put in a lot of work during the week and it's finally paying off."

Roczen’s RCH Suzuki teammates Broc Tickle and Jake Weimer, along with Nicholas Schmidt on the TPJ/Fly Racing/Suzuki also made the Supercross main event in Foxborough. All raced the Suzuki RM-Z450. Motorcycle Superstore / Suzuki’s Jimmy Albertson made the 250 East Main as well, making for five Suzuki riders strong under the spotlight of the finals in Foxborough.

A shout also goes out to Suzuki riders Ronnie Stewart, Alexander Nagy, Dustin Pipes in the 450 class and Matthew Bisceglia in 250 East for qualifying for the program in Foxborough.

Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing’s Blake Baggett also qualified for the show, but was caught up in a couple of unavoidable crashes in qualifying races, preventing him from making the main. It was announced earlier in the week that Yoshimura Suzuki rider James Stewart will sit out the final Supercross rounds in preparation for the start of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship next month.

The Supercross series now makes its annual visit to the greater New York metropolitan area at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Saturday, April 30. It will be the penultimate stop of the 17-race season, beginning at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT. Team Suzuki riders hope to take a big bite out of the races in the shadow of the Big Apple.

Fans will get the opportunity to meet some of Team Suzuki’s riders at an autograph signing at The Motorcycle Mall, 655 Washington Ave., Belleville, NJ from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, April 29.
